October saw the end of the West Conference Season for the Chieftains Midi's section.

Playing against Dumfries, Dunfermline, Biggar, Whitecraigs, Dalziel, Kilmarnock and East Kilbride, Currie finished 2nd in the full club league, behind Dumfries Saints.

This was the first introduction of playing on a full pitch for our U13 squad and they took to it like ducks to water and have used 25 players so far.  Our U14's added flankers to the scrum and increased their game time to 60 minutes, using 30 players so far this season.

Our U15's have grown their squad, using 30 players so far this season and went through all 7 conference games undefeated and topped their group.  This has been outstanding achievement with an exceptional level of rugby being played throughout.

The U16's have used 34 players enroute to 2nd place in the league and are through to a National Conference Youth Shield Quarter Final at home to Jed-Thistle at Malleny Park on Saturday.  Pop up to Santerfield for the 11am KO and cheer on the boys!  Our Colts have used 32 players so far and finished the season in 3rd place in the league and are through to the National Conference Youth Shield Quarter-Final and embark on a bus trip to Oban Lorne on Saturday.

The depth of the squads and competition for places in our youth section is testament to every volunteer who gives up their time to nurture and develop this talent week in week out, so we thank you all.

Next time you’re around when these squads are playing on a Saturday or Sunday, maybe even this week, check them out.  Who knows how many of the 151 players who have represented Currie Chieftains Midi section so far this season, will one day grace the main pitch playing for the First XV!
