A bounce back for the 1st XV as they thrashed Stirling in a dominant first half at a Malleny last weekend
This weekend Chieftains 1st XV travel West to take on Glasgow Hawks.2nd XV and 3rd XV play at Malleny both 2pm kick offs.A good crowd would help cheer on the 2nd XV as they look to remain unbeaten and also for the 3rd XV who have struggled to get a squad out this season.
COACHES COMMENTS ON SELECTION
A few changes due to pro release and unavailability’s through injury, illness or otherwise. Kiran McDonald and Tevita Tameilau are unreleased so Greg Peterson and Rhys Davies come into the starting side. Joe Reynolds is off to get married in New Zealand, so Adam hall starts at 13 while Matt Hooks is unavailable, so Steven Hamilton returns on the wing. Finally, Chris Davies comes onto the bench in a 3/2 split.
COACHES COMMENTS ON THE 1st XV MATCH
More of the same has been the message this week. We played some terrific rugby at times versus Stirling in what were challenging conditions and its now about replicating this standard away from home. Hawks will be massively disappointed with the result last weekend and I’m sure Fin and his staff will be looking for a reaction this weekend. One last effort before the Christmas break and a lot riding on this game at both ends of the table. Hopefully we get a break in the forecasted weather so both teams can play the expansive, exciting rugby they are capable of.
