Double Header at Malleny.

2nd XV kick off on Santerfiled (Top Pitch) at 1:30pm instead of 2pm, then the 1st XV will kick off at 2:30pm on the main pitch.

Large Pre match lunch expected so a good crowd is set to dawn on Malleny.

The 3rd XV are away to Royal High Corstorphine to take on their 2nd XV in a friendly.

COACHES COMMENTS ON SELECTION

A few changes to last weekend’s team against Glasgow Hawks. We welcome back Mike Vernel from holiday and Joe Reynolds from his Wedding in New Zealand. It’s also great to have Charlie Shiel back after an excellent display in his first cap for Edinburgh last week. Kiran McDonald joins the side after being released by Glasgow and Tevita Tameilau is again released and will start at 8. Selection has been a real headache this week and Scott McGinley is desperately unlucky not to be in the team after a strong season whilst Rhys Davies is rested to recover from a shoulder injury.

COACHES COMMENTS ON THE 1st XV MATCH

January is a massive month for the club if we are to achieve our goal of reaching the play-offs for a 5th consecutive season. With 2 games on the road to come against Watsonians and Melrose it is vital we get a win at Malleny against a really strong Heriots team. We have had some fantastic contests against Heriots in recent seasons and I am sure this one is going to be no different and will probably come right down to the final whistle. With some decent weather forecasted and the pitch in good condition, I am sure it will be a very entertaining game.
