Currie Chieftains Chairman, Charles Mullins, has announced that Lexus Edinburgh will become Currie Chieftain’s main sponsor from the 2022-23 season onwards. Speaking at Malleny Park, Balerno, the Chieftains home ground, he said: ‘’I am delighted with the development which I believe will be an exceptional good and mutually beneficial association.’’

Scott Gammie, Franchise Director of Lexus Edinburgh said: “We wanted to partner a sports team who share our brand values.  Currie Chieftains, with their focus on developing players from a thriving youth section along with their exhilarating on pitch performances and consistent place at the top table of Scottish Club Rugby were a perfect match.’’

‘’Being a family club at the heart of the local community also dovetails perfectly with our family-owned business and desire to have low and zero emission hybrid and electric cars available to all, allowing us to make our local and global community a better place.  Both Lexus and Currie Chieftains are relatively young brands in our respective fields and I’m looking forward to us both growing together”.

Charles Mullins added: ‘’Scott is well known at the Club as the Chairman of our Youth Committee and someone passionate about the development of young people through rugby. As an integrated community club Currie Chieftains goes from strength to strength, with the junior and youth sections thriving, the women’s section continuing to develop, and the senior men’s teams doing well. The Chieftains Tennent’s Premiership team currently leads the league table, by a clear margin. Sponsorship is the lifeblood of our Club, and we are delighted to be associated Lexus as a premium brand leader in its field. I know the Club will do everything it can to support our new sponsor in the years to come.’’
