Currie Youngsters have come through the ranks at Malleny this season.

After the last outing against Hawks at Anniesland, three Under 18s from last season have come into the 1st XV squad this season and all played with two scoring tries on their starting debuts.

Campbell Wilson, son of ex 1st XV player Duncan Wilson, has represented in a few games at the start of the season. Campbell is currently sidelined due to a back injury keeping him their for the remainder of the season potentially.

Angus Paton, who was called into the Scotalnd U19 training camp at the start of the season has now been involved in three games. Angus was a replacement in the BT Cup match but then got his chance against Glasgow Hawks a couple of weeks ago where he finished off a well worked Try on his debut. This week Angus retains his place in the 1st XV starting at Winger.

Finally local lad Archie MacLean started in the Hawks fixture and finished off a well worked Try on his debut also. This weeek Archie shows his diversity on the field by moving to outside centre for the 2nd XV.

Great to see that youngsters are getting their chance this season with hopefully more to come in the next few seasons with some good players working their way through the ranks.

The 1st XV kicks off early this week at 2:30pm at Malleny with the 2nd XV kicking off shortly after it at 3pm.
