The first post-split Conference match welcomed Perthshire RFC to a gloriously sunny Malleny. The boys performance matched the conditions and they put on one of their best, if not the best, performance of the season, especially in the first half.

The boys really put all they had been doing in training into the match during the first half. Despite only having 15 players, the boys were not shy on effort at all. Both sides were great to watch. Three tries from McCall and one from Wales in the first half, backed by three beautiful conversion goals from Crombie, saw the boys leading 26-0 at half time.

The second half was a different story. An injury to Wales saw the game move to 14 v 15, but the boys upped their game in trying circumstances. This was exacerbated by a yellow card for McCallum which meant 13 x 15 for a few minutes.

But the way the boys stuck to their task was a serious credit to them. Tries from McCallum and birthday boy MacLean both converted by on-form Crombie saw a final score of 40 - 0.

Thanks to all who helped today in the kitchen, on pitch set up, with oranges, videoing, etc.
