Currie Chieftains U15 v Highland RFC

It is always a pleasure to welcome Highland RFC to Malleny. Today, in sometimes trying meteorological conditions, the boys managed to put on a creditable show of rugby. Frustrations crept into the play at times, and led to periods of inconsistency from both sides. But they kept at it, kept communicative, and were as aware (as anyone) of what areas required improvement in terms of defence, penalty count and doing the basics right first time.

Despite spending a significant amount of the match in their own 22m, Currie Chieftains U15 ran out 88-0 winners against Highland RFC. Tries came from MacLean (4), Anderson (3), Hardie (2) and one each Crombie, Donoghue, McCallum, O'Donnell and Sayers with one each. There was another excellent display of place-kicking with McCallum landing six and Crombie with three successful attempts.

Many thanks to those who helped out setting up/breaking down the pitch today. It is appreciated. Similarly, many thanks to the catering squad for helping today. Our next catering is on 19 November for the visit of Ayr RFC. Special thanks to Rab for bring the oranges for half-time!
