TEAM NEWS |

Luke Crosbie and Charlie Shiel are with Edinburgh and Vince Wright misses out through injury so a few enforced changes. The pack is however boosted by the addition of co-captain Fergus Scott who returned from his long-term injury last weekend for the A team and had huge impact. Mike Vernel starts at lock and Rhys Davies comes in at 6. The backline sees a bit of a reshuffle too with Jamie Forbes showing his versatility starting at 9 having played 10 and 15 last weekend. Adam Hastings starts at 10, Ben Robbins moves to fullback and Matt Hooks comes on to the wing. Scott McGinley and Matt O’Neil are promoted from the A team to take the last couple of spots on the bench.

COACHES COMMENTS ON THE MATCH

The players have taken a lot of confidence from last week’s result having produced their best overall performance to date. The challenge now is to replicate this level of performance away from home against a Hawks side who will be desperate to get back to winning ways. These games have been pretty eventful over the last couple of seasons and have generally gone down to the wire, we expect a similarly tight contest on Saturday. Both teams like to play a high tempo, expansive brand of rugby so let’s hope we can beat the cold snap and get the match on.
